I don’t have any experience with boats will I still be able to take the houseboat?

Yes, absolutely, we are here to help and make you feel comfortable, will give you instructions and stay with you until you feel ready and we agree that you are ready to take the houseboat controls on your own.

Do I need a boat license?

No License Required.

Can I bring my boat and tie it to the houseboat?

Yes you can as long as your boat is under 4.5m, in which case you may want to leave our dinghy behind please let us know. Please provide your own 6m floating tow rope and bring minimum x2 fenders with you, ensuring you don’t damage the houseboat. Unfortunately Lady Brooklyn can not tow other boats other than the tender provided.

Is there somewhere to buy Bait/Ice/food prior to getting on the boats?

The wonderful thing about Wangi is the excellent facilities, we have an IGA/Bottle shop, Bakery (amazing), Pizza shop (amazing), Petrol station, takeaway-shop (yummy fish and chips), coffee-shop Vita (with amazing food especially the Portuguese tarts). Wangi is just AMAZING, there is Ice and Bait also available in Wangi.

Can we drink the freshwater supplied with the boat?

Yes you can. It is our town’s water.

What facilities are there onboard?

Onboard you will find a well-equipped kitchen with sink, gas stove, large fridge with a freezer, oven and grill, crockery, cutlery and tea towels are also supplied. There is a toilet with toilet paper supplied and a hot shower. Outdoor furniture upstairs and an outdoor setting downstairs, a stainless-steel BBQ and a sound system with a CD player. The boats also have a DVD player and screen but no TV reception (although you can watch the smart TV via hotspot if you have a phone that allows this).

What is the reception like for mobile phones?

There is very excellent reception and we even provide free WIFI on the boats.

How fast does the boat go?

Maximum speed is between 5 & 7 knots.

Is linen Provided?

We will provide mattress protectors and fitted sheets for all beds as well towels /pillows and tea towels and hand towels. Please bring top sheets, and quilts/sleeping bags .

NOTES

The boats come will a polycraft tender and oars, to add a motor is $20 per night ( this is important if you plan to go to sure for meals ect)

If you have a boat and would like to bring it please ensure it is under 4.5m long and you bring a minimum of x2 fenders and a 6 m floating tow rope. Unfortunately not for Lady Brooklyn-you can only use our tender provided sorry

Any damages to the boat from your boat will occur a fee.

SUPS- available to hire, if you bring your own please ensure they are not fiberglass SUPS due to damages occurring to boats.

Important note regarding Linen- We provide bottom sheet/ pillows and cases, you will need to bring your own sheet and blanket.

here’s what you’ll enjoy

All our houseboats come with…

No licence required

There is no boating licence required as our houseboats do not exceed 10 knots. We brief you with a short safety DVD in our shop and then provide a full briefing on board the vessel.

Safety GPS tracking

Our vessels are fitted with back to base GPS tracking as a safety precaution.

Mobile phone charger

All vessels are equipped with USB ports and an inverter suitable for recharging mobile phones, laptops and cameras.

Sound systems

All our houseboats are fitted with CD sound systems and a DVD player. (Movies can be chosen at the shop prior to departure or even bring your own).

Complimentary dinghy

Our vessels come with a complimentary dinghy with oars that you tow behind. This allows you to access the shore or jetties. Contact us if you want to hire an outoboard motor.

Bathrooms

All our vessels have flush toilet systems with holding tanks on board. No effluent goes into the lake.

Children

The boats are great fun for families and children. We provide lifejackets for your children (please call us to discuss your child’s age) to wear at all times whilst on the boats to ensure they are always safe.

Secure car parking

There is secure car parking in our sealed car park which is locked at night. We provide 2 carparks per boat (strictly), there is also ample street parking in close proximity of the boats.
